Susan McKellar, Manager

As Manager, Susan’s key role at the SWC is that of an ambassador, promoting the important work carried out by the organisation on behalf of women in Scotland. She does this through direct engagement with key stakeholders, such as politicians, public sector officials and civil society. When in the office, Susan works with the SWC team, assisting in the coordination of events and providing invaluable support.

Outside of work, Susan can be found socialising with friends and family. She also enjoys climbing Munros across Scotland or any other adrenaline filled activity.

Jenna McGhie, Policy and Events Advisor

Jenna plays a key role in delivering the SWC’s events programme, coordinating a wide range of activities from planning and logistics to stakeholder engagement. She works closely with partner organisations and external suppliers to ensure every event runs smoothly and provides a positive experience for the women.

In addition to event management, Jenna oversees volunteer coordination, ensuring volunteers are well-informed, supported and equipped to contribute successfully to SWC events. She also runs the SWC’s social media channels, promoting events, publications and wider organisational activities.

Outside of work, Jenna enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring new places. Her passion for travel and nature inspires hobbies such as hillwalking and photography.

Eileen Cawley, Policy and Events Advisor

Eileen has a long and varied career in the trade union movement and the third sector with a strong history of activism and campaigning. The majority of Eileen’s work with the SWC is in policy and research, ensuring that the information gathered from our conferences and events is properly translated into our publications and reports, amplifying women’s voices and ensuring that their lived experiences are fed into conversations with government and key policymakers. Eileen is also responsible for some of the government consultations and press statements for the SWC.

Eileen serves on several parliamentary cross-party groups and boards and helped create the Scottish Government’s Older People’s Strategic Action Forum which serves as the direct mechanism for older people between policymakers and the third sector, which the SWC is a member of.

In her spare time, as well as being a self-confessed bookworm and indie film geek, Eileen likes to socialise with friends and family (a lot), plays music very loudly and goes to every gig imaginable.

Sophie Bradley-Elliot, Policy Support Advisor

Sophie supports the team by assisting with event planning and delivery, publications, writing blogs for the website and helping with email communications.

She joined SWC following completing her studies at the University of Glasgow in Media, Communications and International Journalism MSc. During this time, she developed a keen interest in efforts working towards gender equality through her final project which addressed men’s violence against women in Scotland.

Outside of work, Sophie likes to cook, keep active at the gym and running, or can be found tucked into her kindle.
