Policy and Events Advisor
Hours of Work - 35 hours per week

Join the Scottish Women’s Convention (SWC) as our next Policy and Events Advisor and help us amplify women’s lived experiences at every level of Scottish decision-making.
About SWC
The Scottish Women’s Convention (SWC) works closely with women in Scotland to ensure that their voices are included across decision-making processes.
We engage with women across every community to ensure their views shape public policy, raise awareness of women’s rights, and hold decision-makers to account. Our vision is a Scotland where the lives, needs and rights of every woman are valued, protected and celebrated.
You must be an enthusiastic, highly committed person who welcomes challenges and has excellent communication skills. You will have a proven track record of working in a busy office environment as well as excellent IT skills. You will also have the ability to work on your own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
Role Purpose
As Policy and Events Advisor, you will:
- Research, draft and publish evidence-based reports, consultation responses, and policy briefings that put women’s voices at the heart of change.
- Gather and feedback women’s lived experiences, ensuring participants see how their contributions shape policy.
- Lead on planning, organising and delivering high-impact SWC events - from local focus groups to national conferences.
- Maintain our online presence - keeping the SWC website and social media channels fresh, accurate, and engaging.
- Act as SWC’s ambassador, building new networks and strengthening existing partnerships across the public, private, and third sectors.
The role is primarily office-based in Glasgow but will involve travel throughout Scotland as required.
