Women's Health in Scotland

During the first half of 2018, the SWC undertook a programme of work on women’s health. Issues discussed included breast and cervical screening; cancer detection, treatment and support; transvaginal mesh implants; thyroid problems; mental health. Other pressing areas of concern raised by women were also explored.

Online Survey

An online survey was used to gather information from women of various backgrounds, ages and from diverse geographical areas in order to inform our work. The SWC is extremely grateful to everyone who disseminated this throughout their networks so that as many women as possible were able to participate.

Roundtables

Roundtable discussions on the key women’s health themes were held in various locations throughout Scotland. Women talked about their experiences as well as support given from health professionals.

Health Conference

A conference was held in Glasgow on Saturday 21st July 2018. This event provided women with the opportunity to talk about key health priorities. A report has been produced outlining speaker contributions, key discussion areas as well as practical suggestions for change.

The SWC encourages women to use the information contained within this document to press for the change. Please share our findings with friends, family and your communities.
