Young Woman's Achievement Award 2015 Applications Now Open

The SWC has been working with young women to ensure their voices are heard at local and national level on issues which are important to them.  The SWC Young Women’s Network (YWN) was established to provide young women with a method of working together to encourage change.  By using social media, on-line blogs and a quarterly enews bulletin, the YWN has a network of individuals and organisations from throughout Scotland involved in activities and discussions.

Young women make a great contribution to communities, workplaces and society.  It is important that this is recognised and valued.  Positive role models rather than negative press will promote confidence and self-belief in young women today.

Young Woman's Achievement Award 2014

This year’s award was presented to the members of ‘Voices for Change’ – a group of inspirational young women facilitated by North Ayrshire Women’s Aid.  The group have worked to overcome many barriers and have produced a DVD highlighting abuse experienced by young women.  They are now looking at creating educational materials to support the DVD.
